Athema's Contraception

Me and had a conversation about "Heroes of Olympus" series by Rick Riordan:

Me: ...I am fascinated in Greek mythology. Not those censored fairy tales from children's books, but the ones as close to original ancient myths as possible. So, how to say it, I was horrified when I saw how some things were messed up... er, modified, I mean. (...) Athena having many (!) children with mortals?! Oh, come on!
AngelAndChangeling:...the Athena thing actually gets explained in the later books. Rather than being children born in the normal way, Athenian demigods are literal "Brainchildren"- their fathers are always humans who Athena admires for their intellect, and the children are born from the sharing of ideas. It's certainly a weird thing, but it's better than just flat out making her have kids, IMO.
Me:"Brainchildren"? Wow, cool! (...) Ow, I have an idea for Athena's contraception! She should put on her head aluminium helmet or one of those weird pyramid hats.
